Weekly Update - November 26th

Hello Wonderful Families, just a few updates for the week we return to school. Please make sure your kiddo is practicing their November Poem this week while they are off of school.  Poem presentations will start Monday, November 26 th . Book order forms went home 2 weeks ago.  I will be placing an order this Sunday, November 17 th .  I will also be placing an order the first week of December to make sure all orders arrive before Christmas.  If you are wanting to order books as Christmas gifts, please just let me know, and I am happy to keep books hidden from your kiddos. Friday, November 30th will be our Magic Treehouse book presentations.  Parents are invited to come to our classroom at 12:45pm to have cookies, hot cocoa, and see the fun book reports we have been working on. Weekly Update, November 12th

Hello Wonderful Families, I hope everyone is enjoying their extended weekend!  Just a few updates for the week: I am looking forward to seeing most of you tomorrow at conferences.   Please remember that each conference slot is only 20 minutes, with no time in between so please arrive on time. The Disguise Your Turkey that came home 2 weeks ago is due this Wednesday, November 14 th .   If you are still looking for ideas, a quick pinterest search can be very helpful.   I look forward to seeing your kiddos creativity! Our Thanksgiving Feast will be this Thursday, November 15th at 12pm.  Thank you so much to those of you that have signed up to donate food and/or your time.  These events would not be possible without you! Weekly Update, November 5th

Hello Wonderful Families, I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!  Just a few updates for the week: November Poems went home last week.   Please make sure students are practicing at home.   Students need to be ready to recite their poems the week of November 26 th . We have started our Magic Tree House book study in class.   Each student was able to select a Magic Tree House book that they will be reading in class.   We will be completing some fun book study projects.   You will be invited to class to see all of our hard work the first week of December! I am so happy to announce that every single student in our class reached their first trimester AR goal!!!   I will be meeting with students on Monday to discuss their 1 st trimester success, and set a new goal for 2 nd trimester. Hello Wonderful Families, I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!  Just a few updates for the week: A new Poem for the month of November will be coming home on Monday.   Students will be sharing their poems the week of November 26 th . AR Progress:  The last day for students to take AR quizzes this trimester is Friday, November 2nd.  If your student has not made their goal yet, please continue to make sure that they are reading at least 20 minutes every single night. Our class was recognized at last week’s ROAR Rally for earning more AR points for the month of October than any other 2 nd grade class!   We received a trophy that is on display in our classroom for the next month!   Kiddos will also be rewarded with some extra recess time this coming week! Hello Wonderful Families, I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!  Just a few updates for the week: This week students will be sharing their October Poems.  I will be calling 5 students per day to share their poem with me.  Their graded rubric will be coming home on Friday. AR Progress:  The last day for students to take AR quizzes this trimester is Friday, November 2nd.  If your student has not made their goal yet, please continue to make sure that they are reading at least 20 minutes every single night. Weekly Update October 15th

Hello Wonderful Families, I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!  Just a few updates for the week: This Friday, October 19 th will be our field trip to see School House Rock at the Lewis Family Playhouse in Rancho Cucamonga.   Our bus will be leaving school at 8am sharp, so please make sure students arrive to school by 7:45am and report directly to their classrooms.   Chaperones may follow the bus or meet us at the entrance of the theater when we arrive. Please pack your kiddo a snack. We will be back to school in time for lunch and electives so kids that stay can pack accordingly. This Friday is pajama day, but please do not send students to school in their PJ’s on this day.   Please have students wear their Sunday’s Best for the theater. This week will be spirit week.   Kiddos that choose not to dress up with the theme of the day, must still follow our Dress for Success dress code policy.   The themes for each day are as follows: · ...

Weekly Update October 8th

Hello Wonderful Families, I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!  Just a few updates for the week: All chaperones that were randomly  selected for next week’s field trip, were notified via ParentSquare on Friday. PIZZA HUT BOOK IT! READING PROGRAM Students who turn in COMPLETE reading logs for the entire month will be awarded a coupon for a free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut. This program will run from October - March.  AR Progress:   We have just over a month left in the first trimester.   Which means kiddos should be at about 65% or more of their AR goal.   An AR progress report will be going home this week and will need to be signed and returned.   You can continue to monitor your students’ progress through the Renaissance Home Connect link to the left.
