Hello Wonderful Families, Just a reminder that LEGOland field trip permission slips are due this Friday, March 1st.  We kindly ask that all Dollar a Day donations and money for discounted tickets be turned in by Friday as well.   This week students will need to be ready to recite their February Poems. The last day to take AR quizzes for this trimester will be this Thursday, February 28th. Remember you can always check in on your child’s AR progress by clicking on the Renaissance link on the left side of this page. Our end of the trimester assessments have begun so there will be no required homework this week.  Students are encouraged to read, and may do optional homework to clip up if they so choose. This coming Friday, March 1st is Read Across America Day.  We will be doing some fun activities, so be on the lookout for a Parent Square post early next week for sign ups for a few items we may need. Hello Wonderful Families, Thank you all so much for the sweet Valentine’s Day treats and sweet cards! Reminder: there is NO SCHOOL this Monday, February 18th in observance of President’s Day. The much anticipated LEGOland field trip will happening Friday, April 5th.  An informational letter and permission slip went home this last Tuesday. We are asking that all permission slips be turned in no later than March 1st.  Each class is allowed 6 chaperones for the trip. If you sign up to be a chaperone, please know that there is a good possibility that you will be responsible for a small group of students the day of the trip.  We will be selecting and notifying official chaperones on March 1st. More information regarding the field trip will be sent home as the trip gets closer. February Poems need to be ready to be recited the week of February 25th. Hello Wonderful Families, Reminder: there is NO SCHOOL this Monday, February 11th or next Monday, February 18th in Observance of President’s Day. Valentine’s Day is this Thursday, February 14th.  Handing out valentine’s Day cards is not mandatory, but we ask that if your kiddo chooses to pass out cards that they include everyone in the class.  We have 24 students (13 boys, 11 girls). If you want to personalize cards, their names are as follows: Ethan, Ames, Reagan, Jack F, Addison, Brianna, London, Callen, Hailey, Dixie, Joelle, Jet, Jack O., Caleb, Trevor, Liam, Pedro, Ashlyn, Allie, Saylah, Zachary, Wyatt, Andrew, Morgan February Poems went  home last Monday. Hello Wonderful Families, I am ecstatic to announce that our class has won the trophy for earning the most AR points for all of 2nd grade for the THIRD month in row!!!  I am beyond proud of these kiddos. I encourage them the best that I can, but they are the ones doing the work, spending hours a week reading and passing their AR quizzes.  We were rewarded with some extra recess today! February Poems will be going home on Monday.  Students will need to be ready to recite their poems the week of February 25th. Valentine's day is coming up. Bringing in Valentine's is not required, but if your student decides that they want to bring in Valentine's cards, please make sure to include one for each student. We have 24 students in our class.
