Update March 2nd

Hello Wonderful Families, Book order forms went home last week.  Please submit any orders before Friday March 6th.  That way we can make sure that all orders arrive before Spring Break. New AR goals have been set.  Students received a new bookmark to keep in class with their “good fit” level on it.  This will help them in selecting books that will help them continue to grow. February Assessment Logs will be coming home on Monday.  Please be sure to sign and return them by Friday, March 6th. Bryant Street Campus will have a fun week of Spirit Days to celebrate Read Across America Week (March 2nd-6th).  The theme for each day are as follows: Monday- Rhyme Time (dress in your favorite rhyme ex: fish in a dish, cook with a book, king with a ring, etc) Tuesday- Stripes and/or polka dots Wednesday: Wacky Hat Wednesday Thursday: Silly Sock Day  Friday: PJ Relax and Read Day For Read Across America Week, 2nd grade will be having a fun  day at “Camp Read-a-Lot”

Update February 24th

Hello Wonderful Families, We have had a VERY busy week finishing up our end of trimester assessments.  It’s hard to believe we are starting our 3rd trimester on Monday. Poems need to be ready to be recited starting this Monday, February 24th.  Book order forms will be coming home on Monday, February 24th.  I will submit the order on Friday March 6th. Update February 18th

Hello Wonderful Families, Remember that there is NO SCHOOL this Monday, February 17th for President’s Day. If you have not returned your January Assessment log, please do so as soon as possible.  Please make sure your kiddo has selected a February poem and is practicing.  Poems will be recited starting Monday, February 24th. The final day to take AR quizzes for this trimester is Friday, February 21st.   That  is only 4 school days away! Please make sure that kiddos are completing their nightly reading and are ready to quiz when they come to school! You can check your kiddos progress using the Renaissance link on the left hand side of this blog. Parent Conferences will take place the week of March 16th.  If a conference is required, I will be contacting you via ParentSquare in the coming weeks. Update February 11th

Hello Wonderful Families, Thank you so much for all of you that made it out to LegoLand for our field trip, I hope you and/or your kiddo had fun! Remember that there is NO SCHOOL this Monday, February 10th. January Assessment Logs went home on Thursday, February 6th.  Please sign and return them to school no later than Friday, February 14th, please. February Poems came home last Monday, February 3rd.  Please make sure your kiddo has selected a poem and is practicing.  Poems will be recited starting Monday, February 24th. Valentine's Day is this Friday, February 14th.  Handing out valentine’s is completely optional. If students wish to bring Valentine’s Day cards for their friends, please make sure that they have enough for everyone in our class.
