Update February 24th

Hello Wonderful Families,

We have had a VERY busy week finishing up our end of trimester assessments.  It’s hard to believe we are starting our 3rd trimester on Monday.
Poems need to be ready to be recited starting this Monday, February 24th. 
Book order forms will be coming home on Monday, February 24th.  I will submit the order on Friday March 6th. That way we can make sure that all orders arrive before Spring Break.
Bryant Street Campus will have a fun week of Spirit Days to celebrate Read Across America Week (March 2nd-6th).  The theme for each day are as follows:
  • Monday- Rhyme Time (dress in your favorite rhyme ex: fish in a dish, cook with a book, king with a ring, etc)
  • Tuesday- Stripes and/or polka dots
  • Wednesday: Wacky Hat Wednesday
  • Thursday: Silly Sock Day
  •  Friday: PJ Relax and Read Day
For Read Across America Week, 2nd grade will be having a fun  day at “Camp Read-a-Lot” on Friday, March 6th. On this day our room will be transformed and we will spend the day reading and relaxing!  We will need a few donations for this day, so check out this week’s parent square if you want to help out.



Parent Conferences will take place the week of March 16th.  If a conference is required, I will be contacting you via ParentSquare in the coming weeks.

Homework:.  Find the Evidence will go home on Monday and is due Friday.  Please remember to fill in your Reading Log and complete Math sheets nightly.  There will be NO MATH HOMEWORK Monday and Tuesday due to assessments.

Hello Wonderful Families, Welcome to our classroom blog.  This blog will be updated weekly with announcements, homework, and spelling and vocabulary lists for the week. This week our PE days will be switched from Tuesday and Thursday to  Monday  and Thursday. Update March 16th

Hello Wonderful Families, New AR goals have been set.  Students received a new bookmark to keep in class with their “good fit” level on it.  This will help them in selecting books that will help them continue to grow. Parent Conferences will take place the week of March 16th.  If a conference is required, I have contacted you via ParentSquare.  If you would like to request a conference, please send me a ParentSquare message and we can set that up. All report cards will be sent home on Friday, March 20th All 2nd graders need to complete 6-8 hours of community service. Community Service hours and projects are DUE by FRIDAY, MAY 1st, 2020. Information about the project requirements went home March 2nd.  This trimester students have restrictions placed on their AR quizzes. Students will no longer be allowed to quiz on books outside of their level range without prior permission. I am hoping this will encourage and help students choose "good fit" books.  Success
