Weekly Update October 8th
Hello Wonderful Families, I hope everyone is enjoying their
weekend! Just a few updates for the week:
All chaperones that were randomly selected for next week’s field trip, were
notified via ParentSquare on Friday.
PIZZA HUT
BOOK IT! READING PROGRAM
Students
who turn in COMPLETE reading logs for the entire month will be
awarded a coupon for a free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut. This program
will run from October - March.
AR Progress: We have just
over a month left in the first trimester.
Which means kiddos should be at about 65% or more of their AR goal. An AR progress report will be going home this
week and will need to be signed and returned.

This week in Language Arts:
Reading: main idea, text features, asking and answering questions
Grammar: Unit 1 review
Spelling: (r controlled) alarm, board, carpet, charm, forget,
garden, morning, orbit, soar, shore
Vocabulary:
- acquire- to earn or obtain something
- thesis- a sentence
written to persuade or prove an idea
- loathe- to feel extreme dislike
- rapidly- in a way that is very fast
- convey- to make it known
Writing: Personal Narrative – seed story, drafting, and revising
the lead
This week in Leadership and Science:
Leadership: ROAR Characteristics O: Own your actions
Science: Bodies of water, quick land changes
Homework: The "Find the Evidence" sheet will come home
Monday and is due Friday. Please make sure that the math worksheet and Reading
Log are completed daily.
On Tuesday your kiddo brought home a sheet with 4 October Poems. Your student will need to choose 1 of the 4 poems to memorize and recite by the end of the month. The grading rubric is on the back. Please spend some time each night helping them learn and practice their poem.
