Update March 4th
Hello Wonderful Families,
All LEGOland permission slips and money are past due. If you have not turned in your money for your discounted ticket or submitted your donation to our Dollar-a-day fund, please do so as soon as possible. Chaperones have been notified via Parent Square. If you were chosen as a chaperone, your $27 will be returned to you.
The ILCS Spelling Bee will take place on Thursday, March 14th. Congratulations to our representative Ames and our alternate Liam! Great job boys!!
Today starts our new trimester. I will be conferencing with students this week to set up their new AR goals.
Conference sign ups were posted to Parent Square last week. If your child attends success academy, we are required to meet. If your child does not attend success academy but you still wish to meet, please sign up for an available time slot.
A Parent Square for March and April classroom helpers will go out this afternoon at 4pm. Thank you all so much for your help in our class!

This week in Language Arts:
Reading: Main Topic/ Key Details, compare and contrast, main purpose and reasons, how reasons support the points, word meaning
Grammar: subject and predicate
Spelling: chew, cruise, goose, hoop, knew, fruit, true, due, recruit, troop
Vocabulary:
- Area: a piece of ground or space
- Benefit: to be useful or helpful
- Soon: in a short time
- Shrugged: raise shoulders slightly
- Several: more than two, but not many
Writing: Opinion Writing
- Revise reasons
- Consider opposing audience and opposing opinions
- Support reasons with examples
- Paragraphs with topic and concluding sentences
This week in Leadership and Science:
Leadership: Kindness journals
Science: Building blocks of matter
Homework: Homework will return to normal this week. Find the Evidence will go home on Monday and is due back on Friday. Math sheets and reading must be completed nightly. There will be no math homework Thursday and Friday due to end of topic assessments.
