Update December 2nd

Hello Wonderful Families,

Please remember that there is NO SCHOOL Monday, November 25th- Friday, November 29th for Thanksgiving.  We will see everyone again on Monday, December 2nd.

There will not be December Poems, but the lyrics to our holiday songs were sent home this week.  Our Christmas performance and Grandparent’s Day will be Monday, December 9th so students will need to learn the words to our songs prior to that day. Here are links to the music:

I will be submitting one last book order for the year on Friday, December 6th.  That way all books will be delivered before we leave for Christmas Break. If you are wanting to order books for gifts or stocking stuffers, please let me know, I will be sure to keep them hidden and find a time to deliver them to you.

We have booked our LEGOland field trip for Friday, February 7, 2020!!!  This is such a fun trip, and the kiddos have been asking about it since school started.  We are letting you know about the trip early, because it follows the holidays so closely.  We are asking for a $25 donation to our Dollar a Day fund to cover student tickets and bus costs.  Adult companion tickets will be an additional cost. More information about the exact amount will be available closer to the trip.

Hello Wonderful Families, It’s been a great first week back!  We’ve been very busy, but it feels so great to be back in our routine. January Poems came home this week. Poems will be recited the week of January 27th, so be sure to study them. The final day to take AR quizzes for this trimester is February 21st.  That seems like it’s still quite aways away, but that is only 26 school days.  Please make sure that kiddos are completing their nightly reading and are ready to quiz when they come to school! You can check your kiddos progress using the Renaissance link on the left hand side of this blog. Weekly Update October 22nd

Hello Wonderful Families, I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!  Just a few updates for the week: This week students will be sharing their October Poems.  I will be calling 5 students per day to share their poem with me.  Their graded rubric will be coming home on Friday. AR Progress:  The last day for students to take AR quizzes this trimester is Friday, November 2nd.  If your student has not made their goal yet, please continue to make sure that they are reading at least 20 minutes every single night. Weekly Update August 27th

PE started this week and the kids looked like they had a blast.  Please remember to send your kiddo to school in comfortable tennis shoes on our PE days, Tuesday and Thursday.  Please remember that all clothing must still follow our Dress for Success policy, even on our PE days. Electives and Success Academy start this week.  If your child has been assigned to a Success Academy class you were notified last week via Parent Square.  If your child will be attending any after school electives, they will eat lunch from 1:30-2:05 then electives will run from 2:05-3:05.   This week in Math:   Finishing up Topic 1: Fluently Add within 20 using a variety of strategies.  Starting Topic 3: Add within 100 using strategies This week in Language Arts: Reading: rhythm and meaning (poetry), compare and contrast, text features Grammar: Adjectives Spelling: (long vowels spelled VCe) bake, face, fuse, home, lime, mule, rose, size, time, tune ...
