Update October 28th

Hello Wonderful Families,

A BIG thank you to those that have sent in money for our "Change for Change" campaign for Ghana. The campaign will run throughout the year so keep sending in change! Our next round of change will be collected this Wednesday, October 30th, so if you’ve been saving up at home, please send it in!
We will begin reciting our poems in class starting this Monday, October 28th.

The end of the first trimester is rapidly approaching!  We will be finishing up our end of trimester assessments this week, so there will be NO HOMEWORK!!

Please remember that it is mandatory for each family to meet with me this trimester for a parent-teacher conference.  If you have not signed up for a conference yet, please remember to do so.

This week we have started our Magic Tree House book study.  Each student was assigned a Magic Tree House Book that they must read prior to Friday, November 1st.  We will then be completing several activities in class related to our books. Families are invited to come to class and see all of our hard work and enjoy some refreshments on Friday, November 15th at 12:45pm.

We have booked our LEGOland field trip for Friday, February 7, 2020!!!  This is such a fun trip, and the kiddos have been asking about it since school started.  We are letting you know about the trip early, because it follows the holidays so closely.  We are asking for a $25 donation to our Dollar a Day fund to cover student tickets and bus costs.  Adult companion tickets will be an additional cost. More information about the exact amount will be available closer to the trip.
You can always check your child's progress toward their AR goal by going to the Accelerated Reader Home Connect website and entering your child's username and password (found in their homework folder). Student’s must meet their AR goal for this trimester by Friday, November 1st!!!!

I know a lot of the math strategies that we are currently learning are different than the traditional method of addition that you may remember and can be confusing. So if your kiddo is ever having a hard time, I recommend downloading the “Bounce Pages” app on your phone. You can scan the Homework page and it will play a short video walking them through the steps.
