Update April 8th

Hello Wonderful Families,


Thank you all so much for attending our LegoLand fieldtrip.  I hope you and your kiddo had a great time!
A book order form went home over Spring Break.  I will be submitting the book order on Monday, April 8th so if you were thinking about ordering books, please do so this weekend.
This week is our Read-a-thon!  Informational packets and pledge sheets went home last week.  A special Read-a-thon reading log will go home in homework folders this Monday, April 8th. Students will be given extra time in class to read each day this week and are encouraged to read extra at home each night as well.  Money raised will go to our sister school in Ghana.


For 2nd grade, you need to complete 6-8 hours of community service.  Think about great ways to serve the community in which you live or go to school.  Community service is a great way to make a positive difference. Community Service Projects will be due Friday, May 3rd.  A handout outlining what is required will go home this week. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to message me.

Homework: Find the Evidence will go home on Monday and is due back by Friday.  Reading and behavior logs must be filled out nightly. There will be NO MATH HOMEWORK Tuesday- Friday this week due to assessments.

Hello Wonderful Families, A BIG thank you to those that have sent in money for our "Change for Change" campaign for Ghana. The campaign will run throughout the year so keep sending in change! Our next round of change will be collected this Wednesday, October 30th, so if you’ve been saving up at home, please send it in! ​ ​We will begin reciting our poems in class starting this Monday, October 28th.  The end of the first trimester is rapidly approaching!  We will be finishing up our end of trimester assessments this week, so there will be NO HOMEWORK!! Hello Wonderful Families, Thank you so much to everyone that made it out for our Magic Tree House Book Club on Friday, I truly appreciate you taking time out of your day to let our kiddos share their work with you! Our Turkey in Disguise Project is due this Tuesday, November 19th! November Poems will also be recited this week, so make sure students are ready starting Tuesday, November 19th. Please remember that there is NO SCHOOL for students this Monday, November 18th for Parent Teacher Conferences.  I look forward to seeing you and sharing your child’s progress so far this year! Our Thanksgiving Feast will take place on Thursday, November 21st at 12:30 pm.  A parent square message was sent out last week asking for donations and volunteers, so if you are looking to help out, check that post for details.  We will be having a Movie Day this Friday in class.  We will be watching the PG rated movie Freebirds. Hello Wonderful Families, I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!  Just a few updates for the week: If you haven't already, please make sure to sign and send in your kiddos permission slip for our field trip on the 19th. I will be notifying chaperones that have been chosen at the end of this week. Thank you all so so much for all of your book orders.  The book order should be delivered this week!  I was able to purchase over 20 new books for our classroom library!  BSC AR INCENTIVE PROGRAM BSC just launched our first ever school-wide incentive program for Accelerated Reader. Each month the second grade class with the most points will be awarded a trophy to be displayed in their class for the entire month.  In addition, the top reader (student with the most points at the end of the month) will be recognized at our monthly ROAR Rally, have his or her picture posted on our Rockin' Reader Bulletin Board, and will be mentioned in our monthly ...
