Update December 9th
Hello Wonderful Families,
This Monday, December 9th will be our Grandparent’s Day celebration. Grandparents (and honorary grandparents) are being asked to meet in the Cub’s Den (Church Sanctuary) at 8:15am. 1st grade will perform first, then we will perform immediately following. When all performances are done Grandparents can come to our classroom to complete a craft.
Our Winter Performance is on December 9th at 5:00pm at Active Church. We will be singing "Must Be Santa" and "All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth." Song lyrics were sent home November 22nd. We are asking that students be dropped off in the designated room at Active Church at 4:30pm. Immediately following our performance we ask that you PROMPTLY pick up your child in the quad area outside of the main sanctuary. There will be a 15min break following our performance to allow you to come get your child and return to the sanctuary if you have older children preforming. Students should wear their "holiday best" for the performance. We request that NO hats or tall headbands be worn as they will interfere with our performance props.
November Assessment Logs went home on Thursday, December 5th. If you have not signed and returned this already, please do so as soon as possible.
I will be submitting one last book order for 2019 on Monday, December 9th. That way all books will be delivered before we leave for Christmas Break. If you are wanting to order books for gifts or stocking stuffers, please let me know, I will be sure to keep them hidden and find a time to deliver them to you.
We will be doing a Secret Santa Gift Exchange in class on Friday, December 20th. We will be picking names on Monday. Students are being asked to purchase a gift ($10 limit please) and bring it to class, wrapped, by Thursday, December 19th. This activity is in no way meant to create a hardship for anybody. If buying a gift is not something that you can do at this time, please let me know and I would be happy to help. I want to make sure no kiddos are left out of the fun!
We have booked our LEGOland field trip for Friday, February 7, 2020!!! This is such a fun trip, and the kiddos have been asking about it since school started. We are letting you know about the trip early, because it follows the holidays so closely. We are asking for a $25 donation to our Dollar a Day fund to cover student tickets and bus costs. Adult companion tickets will be an additional cost. More information about the exact amount will be available closer to the trip.
